Here is a taste of what is coming.

I walked into the hotel room where Rachelle was getting ready and my eyes lit up when I saw her amazing bright yellow shoes. I absolutely love taking the detailed shots at weddings because, as a bride myself, I know how much time and energy is put in to all those fine details.  After the final makeup touches were done the girls made their way to the Edmonton Petroleum Club where Huan and the groomsmen were already waiting.  Friends and family filled the seats and the music started; it was time for Rachelle to come down the aisle to meet Huan. 

After a beautiful ceremony we all went back to Huan’s parent’s house for a Tea Ceremony. The house was filled with friends, family and delicious food. Rachelle even changed into a traditional outfit; it was gorgeous!

The weather was fantastic, but the mosquitos were insane….after about 3 coats of deep woods bug spray we all ventured into the field to capture these photos.  Rachelle and Huan are from Calgary, so they hadn’t seen the photo locations I’d picked out for them, and I’m so glad they trusted me because I’ve wanted to take a bride and groom to this location for years, and I LOVE how these photos turned out!

This photo makes me smile, it’s a sweet quick glance I caught during the speeches at their reception, which was also held at the Edmonton Petroleum Club.

Not only was there great dinner and good music for everyone to enjoy, but Rachelle and Huan had also asked me to set up a photo booth for their guests and my Assistant (thanks Sean) got some great photos. I’ve created a slideshow with all of the photos, but below is just a quick sample for you. As you can see guests of all ages joined in … and because it looked like so much fun, Sean and I had to try it out as well.  If you ask me, these should be everyone’s Facebook profile pictures for the next few months, I mean come on…could anyone beat it?!!

Here’s my youngest daughter modeling for me at a little mini photo shoot I did of her at 4 months old. She’s mastered the “roll” so it was a bit tricky capturing this photo, but we got it. Yippee!

So, a few weeks ago, my family and I went on a road trip (if you recall my twitter posts).  My husband, two daughters and I  ended up leaving Edmonton at about midnight and checked in to the hotel at 4am Saturday morning…but the lack of sleep didn’t slow me down at our photo shoot! Maybe it was the excitement of shooting in a new city or maybe it was the extra-large dark roast coffee I ordered from the Starbucks that was conveniently located in the Westin Hotel lobby; either way I was awake and I was excited to meet up with Rachelle and Huan.

The sun was shining, my coffee was delicious and my brain was in excitement-overload as Rachelle and Huan drove me around to a few of the locations they had narrowed down for our photo shoot. It was a great day and I’m sure their wedding day will be even better!

I have so many favorite photos, I just couldn’t decide which ones to feature, so I’ve posted a ton in this blog post.
