I am so excited to share these photos with you, not only because the wedding was beautiful, but because the groom is my nephew and the flowergirl is my four year old daughter, Kamaya, (as you’ll see a few more “flowergirl photos” than I would normally post). Josh, Tiliea and I met up for their engagement session earlier in the year and it was great working together; but I was especially excited for their wedding. Booking an October wedding can be a bit risky, but it was a perfect day for Josh and Tiliea. I especially loved the detail put in to this wedding and the amazing fall colors that were included throughout the day. My family and I were able to drive down early the day before so I could capture a few detailed photos for Tiliea and get the flowergirl to rehearsal, of course! The locations Josh and Tiliea picked out for photos were amazing and it was such a treat shooting in new surroundings; I love how everything turned out!!

The reception was so fun and the music was fantastic! I didn’t actually photograph very much of the reception because I wanted to attend as a “guest” as well and I was kept pretty busy running after my two girls. I even snuck in one dance with my husband…it’s been years.
Even after all these years of shooting weddings, I still get nervous and excited for every wedding I photograph, but this wedding was more than I could imagine; I probably kissed my girl a million times that day, I was such a proud mama!
And a shout out to my niece, Elizabeth, for making a beautiful wedding cake!

I had so much fun meeting up with Tanis, Josh and Waylon again. It’d been a few months since their winter photo shoot. However, this session was extra special because it took place at their home, their beautiful acerage, Waylon’s full-time playground, and a photographer’s dream….AhhhMAZING! Photographing an (almost) 2 year old boy can be a bit of a challenge, but Waylon was always happy to run to mom and dad for a snuggle and I was ready to capture those moments. These photos make my heart happy and I’d love to share that happiness with you all….enjoy!

Oh sweet Talan – you make my heart happy. Your little expressions. Your precious smile. Your fantastic eyes. And you have amazing parents! I was excited when Kristy contacted me and said she was hoping for an urban family photo shoot because I’ve wanted to use this location for a family for a while…and it was perfect for Talan, Kristy and Carmine. The morning included hugs, kisses, smiles and lots of drool….just perfect for a 5 month old boy. I’m so happy to share these with you – enjoy!

One big, happy family. Mom, Dad, siblings, cousins, aunties and uncles – wow….yes, we covered everyone in this family photo shoot. I had photographed Christina, Bo, Elyse and Thomas a few years ago and I had a blast, but this time I got to meet even more of the family and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I enjoyed the beautiful calming scenery as I made my way to their lovely acerage home…just a few minutes outside of Edmonton lies a treasure…..a dream for a photographer! Mary Jane scheduled me for her family photo shoot and said she had the perfect location, and she was right!!! Mary Jane looked fabulous, her son and husband looked great too, but it was Tucker (who has the smallest squeeky toy, I’ve ever seen) the dog, who stole the show.
Mary Jane, I’m so glad we took those few extra minutes walking around your property; the solo photos of you are some of my all-time favorites! Enjoy!

This little sweetheart, Tianna, has probably changed so much already since I was over visiting for her newborn photoshoot just a few weeks ago…it happens THAT fast! So sleepy, so curly and so tiny. You never get these new little moments back and that’s why I think it’s so absolutely important for parents to schedule newborn photo shoots. You will not regret it, trust me! Below are a few of my favorites from Tianna’s newborn session. She was just eleven days old. And I cannot forget to mention her proud big brother, Evan; he was a joy to meet and kept me thoroughly entertained when Sarah had to sneak away for a few minutes to tend to Tianna. Disneyland is truly the happiest place on earth, and a great place to get engaged. They had matching rings, and they both knew this was the holiday “it” was going to happen, but they didn’t know how eachother was going to propose. There were two proposals; one at the stary night portion of the Peter Pan ride and the other had the ring tied to a scarf and presented it while enjoying the Christmas decorated castle. Amanda and Jocelyn were officially engaged and the planning began.
I am honoured that Amanda and Jocelyn selected me to document their wedding day.
Their fall wedding day started with a “first look”. Yes, Amanda waited at the top of the stairs as Jocelyn made her way down the path… and seconds later they saw eachother for the first time. Amanda and Jocelyn both wore beautiful wedding gowns and coordinated them perfectly. Infact, every detail of the wedding was coordinated with white and red throughout; even down to the red velvet cupcakes with white icing. We were able to spend a couple hours taking photos of the two of them and some with the bridal party before making our way to the University of Alberta Faculty Club courtyard for their outdoor evening ceremony. It was the perfect location seeing as it was here on UA campus they met years ago! The day was wonderful and I’m very excited to share these photos of Amanda and Jocelyn’s wedding.

So, not sure how to get natural smiles from a nervous wedding party….just call on the the little flowergirl for help! Honestly, kids do the funniest things and are naturals at making grown ups smile. Here I am at Amanda and Jocelyn’s wedding chatting it up with their beautiful niece….we made a deal, she had to stay by my side and make sure everyone laughed and smiled nice and then she was allowed to hang out with us while we kept shooting.
